President of Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions (CMKOS). He completed Secondary Industrial School in Opava, after completing his studies began working with in the technical profession in Vítkovické železárny. After November 1989, he actively participated in setting up new trade unions; which have been in operation since February 1990. He was elected as OS KOVO Vice-President in 1993, and in 2005 was elected OS KOVO President. In May 2014, he was elected as CMKOS President – the biggest Trade Union centre in the Czech Republic. A long-standing participation in different RHSD – Tripartite working teams. He is also a member of the European Trade Union Confederation Steering Committee. Most recently in 2019, he was elected as a Vice-president of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). Among his personal interests, he enjoys photography, skiing, music and loves to use Facebook and Twitter in his work.
